Panentheism (All-in-Godism) teaches that in part God is the universe but that the universe is not God. Everything in the universe has God in it as the Bible teaches and everything in the universe is part of God but nothing in the universe is actually God. This would also seem to indicate that the universe is eternal just as God is eternal in the sense that "both" or rather "it" has no beginning or end. You'll recall the bible does not speak on the matter of the universes beginning in Genesis only the earths beginning. What do you think? Keep in mind this concept is something of a blend of pantheism (God is the universe) and classic theism which teaches that God is outside of the universe and a distinct caring being. God is both in my estimation. A rather new concept for me but I feel as though it just makes sense and have accepted it. Obviously I'm going to do an upcoming show about it entitled, "What is God?" For further reading on Panentheism- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PanentheismIn preparation for that show I purchased this book which though long and scholarly I intend to read beforehand- www.amazon.com/Panentheism-Other-Philosophers-Plato-Present/dp/0801027241/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266748057&sr=8-1

Thanks for the link tweek... I am a "God is the whole" panentheic thinker! I completely believe that God is the " eternal animating force behind the universe" with the universe being the manifest part of God. that blue sky, that is Gods glory. those birds, that is God flying. those children, that is God playing. those apple trees, that is Gods offering. Jesus said, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. And if your heavenly father feeds the birds of the air, how much more will He feed you, His precious, beloved children. Interesting note about apple trees. lets say you plant a baby apple tree in your yard and the first summer it grows 2 apples, and you pick & eat them. Next summer 4 apples will grow in that same spot. The next summer if you pick & eat those 4 apples, 8 more apples will grow in that spot.....and so on and so on until the tree is full of apples (abundance) Interestingly enough, if noone picks the original 2 apples, no more apple grow. The tree responds to the demands of the apple pickers. (like bears & raccoons.) so, who takes care of the birds? God takes care of the birds!!!!! I believe that God is the essence of the apple tree and that God responds to the needs of all the creations on earth! Which could be humans, animals, birds, etc etc etc! excellent topic tweek... ENJOY the book!
